Women, Wives and Lovers
"There's girls, there's women and there's ladies, there's yesses, there's nos and there's
maybes" as Ed Bruce sang in one of his songs. Below are drawings showing the projects that
patterns are available for. "Mouse over" the images for a description of the project.
Some are more of a challenge than others but all can be carved by anyone with a bit of experience
by creating them one step at a time and don't let yourself be overwhelmed by the overall shape
of the pose. Most of all, relax and enjoy creating the woman of your choice.
When some men meet a pretty girl, they never
give her a second thought- they are far too busy
with the first. Though she is seated, the pattern
doesn't include a seat so you can decide if she
should be in a chair, on a stool or sitting on the
edge of your desk. $3.00
Now, why would she be winking? Hmmm.
Carving a face with a come hither, seductive
look can be a challenge. You can capture
that look with the wink and a slight smile
with a slightly open mouth. That's the look
you'll want on this gal. $3.00
Early to bed and early to rise is the way of a
girl before she gets wise. Carving this gal
is a good way to learn how to carve the female
form. Even when doing caricatures you'll want
to have them believable so give some shape
and form to her body but don't exaggerate so
much that she becomes grotesque. $3.00
She's obviously the shy type though she may
not admit it. You might consider having her
holding a purse or a book in her hands. Maybe
even a rose? When you look at a pattern give
some thought as to how you could modify it
to make it your own interpretation. $3.00
Things settle and shift as we get older but
this gal still likes to wear her bikini. You can
even add a few more pounds by making some
changes in the pattern before you cut it out.
Changing facial expressions will give her a
whole different look too. $3.00
A lot of twists and turns in this pose will
challenge your carving skills but just take
it one small area at a time and you'll have
no problem creating an acceptable carving
to set on the edge of a shelf or maybe on
your computer monitor. $3.00
She's a flirt blowing kisses over the back
fence. This project sitting on your desk could
be quite a conversation starter. When carving
females, experiment with carving different
hair styles on your women. $3.00
It's the morning after the night before and
here comes the missus with his morning coffee.
Add this figure to one of your party dude figures
to create a family portrait scene. $3.00
A French maid by your recliner to hold a tray
with your favorite snacks and breverage might
be handy. Enlarge this pattern to about thirty
inches tall (remember to enlarge all pattern views
the same percentage). If that isn't practical, a
shorter version sitting on your desk could be a
unique
conversation starter. $3.00
This gal is puckered up and ready to kiss
somebody. I used her as Mama on a "I saw Mama
kissing Santa" carving. Who will you have her
kissing? $3.00
"Well, if it was up to me..." . We've all known a
Ms. Upidy gal or two. Of course you could put
a big smile on her face and have her holding a
picture of her grandchild. That would change the
whole appearance of this pattern making her
proud instead of fussy. Did you notice that she's
almost a Red Hat lady?
$3.00
I grew up in the pin-up calender era and here
is Mrs. Claus when Santa first met her (Ho, ho,
ho... a good girl for sure). Put her in a bikini for
a different look.
You can decide what to have
her holding in her hand... maybe a bracelet, ring
or a necklace. Real, not carved.
$3.00
"Hi there..." is one of several patterns in this
pattern collection package. You'll also find two
bust type projects: a fast food waitress and a gal
with folded arms, a caricature desk clock and
toothpick holders. $5.00
Uh oh... stepping on the scales after
the holiday isn't always the best thing
to do. How can one pound of chocolates
add 5 pounds of weight?
Then again, you
could carve this pattern as a woman
standing on a chair looking down at a
mouse on the floor
$3.00
You want fries with this? Because of
the twist in her torso, this project will
help you learn to identify the three
pivot points of the body:
the neck,
the shoulders and the hips. $3.00
She's a cosmopolitan cutie, a
casual gal and a good basic
project for learning to carve
female figures. $3.00
